This vector-based revolutionary technology replaced Applet in developing websites with multimedia content easily. Graphical information created by Flash are stored as mathematical formulae instead of pixel tables, because information store in vector form consumes less space than pixel values. Flash is used to create animations and other complex content that requires sound and user interactivity. Example of multimedia content are animated cursors, animated buttons, scrolling menus and games – the most popular use of Flash.
Flash are made using the Macromedia Flash software that is developed by the same developer of Dreamweaver, Macromedia. It is proprietary but there is a trial version that you can download from the website of Macromedia.
