Webmasters – Who are they?

A webmaster (webmistress for the female) is the brains behind the website. They are also called as web developer and system administrator. He is the one responsible in maintaining the website. He is in-charge of the design layout, development, promotion, monetization and all that. To be called as a webmaster, you must be knowledgeable on HTML and the latest Web applications.
On bigger sites, he will act as a coordinator and supervisor to the activities of other people working on the site. There are instances that a company hires them to develop a website for them and that makes webmaster as an occupation.
